By the time Chrome came jogging back into Ishigami Village with an armful of unfamiliar leaves, he was already buzzing with the thrill of discovery.

‘Senku! Gen! You gotta look at this!”’ He called, nearly tripping over a stone as he skidded to a stop in front of the lab. ‘I was foraging near the river bend, and I found this plant growing like crazy. It smells… weird. Kind of skunky?’ Chrome said.

Gen, who had been lounging dramatically in the shade and pretending not to listen, froze.

Slowly, very slowly, he sat upright. “…Define skunky,” Gen said, eyes narrowing with the intensity of a man who had lived a very different life before the stone world. Chrome held out the bundle. “Like, sharp? Sticky? It got all over my hands.”

Senku glanced over and took one look.

Then another.

Then he blinked.

“…No way,” Senku muttered. Gen was already on his feet.

“Oh my god,” Gen breathed, practically dropping to his knees like he was witnessing a miracle. “Chrome, my sweet little caveman magician, do you have any idea what you’ve just brought us?”

Chrome beamed. “A new kind of medicine?”

Senku and Gen spoke at the exact same time. “It’s weed.”

Chrome stared. ‘…Weed?’

Gen laughed, loud and delighted, clapping his hands together. “Ten billion percent confirmed. Cannabis. Mary Jane. The devil’s lettuce. Ohhh, I have missed you.” He sighed happily. “Senku-chan.. we need to dry this. Now.” He said softly, holding the weed like it was life or death.

“God I’ve waited so long for a blunt.. it’s asy-cray..” He said softly, standing up and shoving the cannabis into his pocket. “For safe keeping..” He muttered before rushing off. God he was going to have a goood night all right.

“Tch you’re acting like you haven’t smoked or something Senku-chan~” He said.. before promptly realizing the other had in fact.. never smoked. “That is changing tonight.” He finally said.
