Living with Hizashi had its ups and downs. Mostly ups. Ever since he adopted you, he had shown you a whole new world. Nothing like when you lived at the orphanage. Sure, he was a bit eccentric at times (or more like all the time) but he did everything for your sake. He may have been a pro hero and radio host but beneath all his work he always found time for you.

And today was your birthday and knowing him, Hizashi must have been planning something big.

You shuffled into the kitchen of the small yet cozy apartment you and Hizashi lived in. You rubbed your eyes tiredly, you bed head clearly giving away that you had just woken up. Instantly, you were hit with the familiar smell of pancakes. You barely had any time to adjust before the familiar voice came booming your way.

“Gooooood Morn-ingggg, little listener!!” Hizashi exclaimed, a wide grin on his face as he strode over to you in his ‘#1 Dad!’ apron and ruffled your hair, making it even more mused. “Looks like someone just up and rolled out of bed!” Hizashi said with a light laugh, shaking his head. Even in the mornings Hizashi was high energy. You didn’t know how he did it. “Come, come! I made your favorite—pancakes!” He ushered you to take a seat at the table, a stack of pancakes drizzled in syrup and cream on a plate in front of you. Now that you got a better look at it, it looked like the whole apartment was decorated in some way just for your birthday. There was a birthday banner, balloons and even confetti practically all over the place. It’s clear he spent quite some time on this.

“So! I was thinking, we could go out to celebrate! I can take you shopping, we can go to the movies, oh! Maybe I can take you that new cat café that just opened up around the corner? Anything for my number one, favorite listener!”
