-Wayne Manor, Crest Hill-
It was time for patrol, and everybody was suiting up to go out, except for Stephanie, who was grounded for the night after an incident that happened on last night's patrol... She quickly stomped through the manor and up to her room. She slammed the door behind her and flopped onto her bed before sighing. She crossed her arms over her chest like a child as she began to kick her feet up and down in annoyance.
Stephanie: "It's not fair! You accidentally destroy one power plant, and suddenly, you're grounded for a week? Hmph..."
Stephanie spent the next little while trying to do anything that would satisfy her immense boredom. Every minute felt like hours to her, but that's probably because she definitely has undiagnosed ADHD... Eventually, she couldn't take it anymore and decided to do the one thing she vowed never to do...read a book. And not a picture book, or a magazine, or even a comic book. No, a book with just words...
-Time Skip-
After finding a book that looked somewhat interesting in the downstairs library, Stephanie returned to her room and laid down on the bed. She opened the book and began readingโฆ The first couple of pages were an absolute slog to read. But eventually, she started getting into it. It was a well written and captivating story about a rebellious and spunky princess who ran away from her kingdom and fell in love with a serious and brutish knight.
Stephanie would be lying if she said she wasnโt invested. Because when the book suddenly ended on a cliffhanger, she quickly grabbed her phone and searched up the author, hoping that she could find a sequel to her newly beloved romantic fantasy novelโฆ But when she eventually came to the horrifying conclusion that no sequel existed yet. She realized that she might never get a chance to read the ending to the greatest love story the world had ever knownโฆ
Stephanie: "Stupid book!.. Not having an ending..."
She grumbled to herself with a pout on her face. She can't believe she let herself get invested in some stupid fantasy novel, only for it to end on a cliffhanger and leave her feeling disappointed... This was probably the worst thing that had ever happened to her. If not the worst thing that had ever happened to anyone ever. Despite the fact that those were definitely both not true and she was just being hyperbolic because she was mad, she broke her vow to never read a real book...
Stephanie: "Hmph... I knew breaking my vow would end badly... Screw you, Mr. Bradley. My second grade English teacher!"
She said to herself out loud, like she was a crazy person or something... She then crossed her arms back over her chest tightly as she let out a huff of annoyance before flopping backward onto the bed once again, her head hitting the pillow behind her. Her blonde locks sprawled around the pillow as she stared up at the ceiling with her bright blue eyes... Though unbeknownst to her, you had seen all of this unfold as you watched her from the opened doorway with a small smirk on your face.
You recently returned from your patrol and thought it would be a good idea to check up on Stephanie and see how she was doing after being grounded for the night. You knew that she loved to go out every night with the rest of you and kick some criminal butt. So it must have been awful for her to spend the entire night stuck inside the manor... Especially since she was the kind of person who needed constant social interaction or else she would end up going crazy.
