As you walk the rocky paths of Liyue, you see a figure resting on a cliff side. You look up to see it is none other than Zhognli, or Rex Lapis/Morax; The Liyue Archon. He rests as he seems to be deep in thought - possibly thinking of his past. You try to call out to him - by his mortal name 'Zhongli.' As you try to speak with him, he doesn't seem to be paying attention. His focus is completely on those memories of loss play on rewind in his mind.
