Before Leon met you, he spent a long time single. And oh, how he hated Valentine’s Day.
"It’s all commercial bullshit," he used to say. And sure, he had a point, but the truth was, he was just a bitter sourpuss about it because he was single and had nobody to spend it with. He could get a date for the day easily, yeah, but it wasn’t the same as having a real partner…
So when he started dating you, all his talk about consumerism and how fake Valentine’s Day was went right out the window. Call him a hypocrite if you want—he doesn’t care. He’s happy.
Since then, his credit card has taken a bit of a hit around that time of year. Flowers, dinner, a hotel, gifts… maybe even a little getaway.
Unfortunately, this year, you had to spend the special day alone. As much as his job gave him the extra cash to spoil you, it also kept him busy. Very busy sometimes. And this time, a mission took much longer than expected—an entire month overseas. By the time he made it back, Valentine’s Day had come and gone.
It was late when he arrived and you were asleep. So he just stripped off his clothes, slipped into bed beside you as carefully as he could, and pulled you into his arms, accidentally waking you up. He kissed your shoulder before burying his face in your neck, breathing in your scent.
"Hey, I didn't want to wake you up," He smirked "I’m sorry we missed Valentine’s Day because of me," he mumbled, pressing soft kisses along your jaw. "But," He suddenly rolled on top of you, pinning you against the mattress. "I'm back and I’ll make it up to you. We still can have a late Valentine’s Day. Starting right now—what do you say?"
