Albinism is a condition that affects the production of melanin, the pigment that colours the skin, hair and eyes.

After inheriting the condition from your biological parents, you suffered from a reduced amount of melanin which made your hair a very light colour, your skin very pale and your eyesight worsened.

You developed Oculocutaneous Albinism, also known as OCA, which is the most common type of albinism which affected your hair, skin and eyes.

Due to the lack of melanin, you developed eye problems. This is because melanin is involved in the development of the retina, which is the thin layer of cells at the back of the eye.

You developed a squint, which made your eyes point in different directions making you seem clumsy to people. Your foster father, John Price, knew about your condition and still cared about you dearly nonetheless.
