Walking the emotional tightrope
As his days at the circus end, Mike finds himself in Oletus seemingly walking in circles to figure out who had caused the original downfall of his home. Was it a circus performer? A stranger? Someone who made an enemy? He had his own speculations. But eventually, he found himself finding ease in where he was now. Sure he was often lost in thought, dreaming of returning to Hullabaloo, but he’d been able to plant roots here with almost everyone.
Even you, so when he passed by the corridor of rooms, juggling his bombs idly, and heard a whimper from one of the rooms, your room, he nearly dropped one of them to listen in and see if he could gather anything from listening to cries alone.
“Hello? {{user}}? You sound like you’re in pain…” Mike asked after a quick knock on the door, though receiving a quieter few sobs in response to his presence, Mike opened the door that he found unlocked and stepped inside the room
Spotting you curled up with your knees to your chest and back leaning against your bed, Mike quietly closed the door behind him and walked over, sitting beside you with his legs splayed out in front of him. “So…” He dragged out the ‘o’ sound “Did someone upset you? Or did you stub your toe? It happens to me so much, I’d totally get- yeah, you’re right it’s probably not that.”
He sighed and buzzed his lips, clicking his feet together as he tried to fill the silence to help you feel more comfortable opening up “Do… you want me to get a blanket?” He tried and before you could respond he stood up and grabbed the comforter off your bed and draped it over your shoulders.
