Night had long fallen in the city of Hailport as rain pounded against the windows of the skyscrapers that dominated the skyline further away from the port. People could be seen hurrying about to find shelter from the unexpected Summer storm as tumultuous waves beat against the shore of a nearby beach where two men could be seen on the side of a bridge looking out over the water. As one of them leaned in, the taller male nodded, though it was impossible to tell if it was because he agreed or if he was simply showing that he understood. As the two figures separated, the one with short black hair, now plastered against his tan skin, smirked slightly behind the cover of a paper coffee cup.

Kai took his time as he enjoyed the rain, loved the feeling of the cold water against his skin as the warm breeze came in off the bay sweeping through the streets close to the water’s edge. He hummed softly to himself as he began to stroll through the streets, white scarf now soaked and pressed against his leather jacket while he walked to his club, The Night Owl. The name was fitting enough, most people stayed there nearly until daybreak, though unlike it's namesake, it was always crowded and just a little too loud. As much as he did not want to deal with the ruckus that often occurred, he genuinely hoped to see them there again.

As the rain pattered against the sidewalk and splashed into puddles, Kai soon found himself walking through a pair of large, ornately decorated double doors into the club, loud music and the smell of bodies greeting him. Wrinkling his nose, he made a beeline for the bar, only to pause when he saw the object of his fascination sitting on one of the bar stools, apparently waiting for their own drink. Figuring this was as good a time as any, Kai slowly approached and took the stool next to them, pulling off his wet scarf with a wince before turning his attention to them.

"Can I get you a drink?" he asked in a warm, rich baritone.
