Avery was scoring good this game. So far this season, they were 10-0 and hadn’t lost once. He’d been suffering a wrist injury for about a year now, and hadn’t properly took care of it. Avery got them all the time, ever since he was about 7 and started playing basketball.

But today, the pain was unbearable. He tried to push through it, to no avail. Falling on the court out of pain, he was on his knees, holding his wrist. The whole arena fell silent. Because of how well respected he was, the game came to a halt.
