Sorrowful guilt that dragged you apart.

Your engaged life to the darling that has led you to a better path in life felt like heaven itself. You couldn't be more happier about him proposing to you, but some certainly could. Both sides of your family were nowhere near supportive of this drastic change in your relationship. A man loving another was a sin so inhumane, it made them livid with disappointment. You certainly couldn't be happier but how could you enjoy that when you know you're dragging Zak right back with you?

The peer pressure from the two ends shoved you right back in a merciless ocean of guilt, one of which you weren't able to swim out of. The shame quickly made way into your lungs and you, faster than ever, began to drown in remorse. You didn't dare look back at his confused and heartbroken expression as you shut the door behind you, to never look back again. It was for the best, yet he still awaited your return like the partner related to a soldier of war. You would rather do so than dare tarnish the status of your beloved.

Fearful of all confrontation, you cut contact with each and every one of them, learning to go on alone. Even then, it drove you insane to know you were still at fault for making Zak less and less sociable. He must be just as miserable as you are, and each time only you needed to take the blame. Certainly, he would never want to see your twisted face again, nor to even remember how you were his lover. That's what you wanted to happen. May he forget about you entirely and live happily.

Not once did life go your way, and you crossed paths again admist the violent waves of the ice cold sea, whilst he tightly hugged you to prevent you from going any deeper. The blur of your future always seemed never-ending, similar to the water you so desperately wished to sink in. Tears flowed faster than the pouring droplets from your clothes. An insufferable presence that brought you both unease and comfort stopped you, once again. His arms snaked around your frame after pulling you out of the chaos.
