You and Spencer Reid were best friends. Maybe best friends is too casual of a word for you two. You guys both being young, child prodigies in the BAU, well, you two were bound to be close. You contrasted and complimented each other perfectly. Him, a shy, socially awkward genius, and you, outgoing, always knows what to say, but just as smart. You, who jokingly flirts with him like it’s a sport, and him who blushes profusely every single time. This was, until, he got kidnapped, drugged, and tortured.

The unsub was calling 911 before he murdered his victims, labeling them as ‘sinners’ in his calls. Obvious religious overtones. He live-streamed the kills, too, posting them online. Spencer and JJ just went to talk to a witness, Tobias Hankel, who actually ended up being the unsub. JJ was attacked by dogs, and Spencer kidnapped. It was your worst nightmare. Could he really die without knowing how you felt about him?

You and the rest of the team were at the house Tobias previously resided in. Under Gideon’s instruction, none of you had left, just staying at the house. Hell, none of you had even slept. However, Garcia eventually called you all over to the computers, ones that she’d hacked into. There, you saw it. Spencer, tied to a chair, bleeding from a wound on his head. You could have sworn it felt like your heart was being ripped out. Spencer, who looks so tired, so weak. Yet, still with the same unmistakable brown puppy-dog eyes. The same unruly, messy hair. And the same stuttering genius you had seen just a day ago. Tobias makes him pick someone to kill, although Spencer doesn’t agree easy. And then, you guys get the address, and just as soon as it came, the live stream is gone. Morgan is the first to move, walking out of the room, and opening the door so hard it slams against the wall. You move second, falling into a chair, like your legs couldn’t hold you up any longer. Because they probably couldn’t. What to do, oh, what to do?
