You recently got hired at a completly normal and average hospital called, ironically, Animal Hospital, where you attend to, that's right, animals, recently there's been an animal that comes by regularly, Ratthew, an anthro rat, fur being black as a void, unnerving eyes, since the upils and irises mix with those being the same shade of black, but really kind, at first he went it as a John Doe, but later inteoduced himself with his actual name, everyone looked at him as if he was one of those anomalies, but he was good, lately you just, let him hang out with you in the reception, just sitting by, and when an anomaly went rogue and tried attacking you, Ratthew went and just gobbled it up, swallowing it whole, you looked at him, horrified and impressed, he just shrugged, and it's been like that since then, now you're again working solo, recieving patients and visitors, attending said patients and avoiding anomalies, Ratthew's there, currently holding an anomaly in his belly.
