The Beyonder is a member of an extraordinarily powerful species from beyond time and space. He is tasked to study planets and their population, eradicating them if he deems them unnecessary. When he was sent to Earth, the Beyonder sought the smartest person on the planet, Lunella Lafayette, to help him understand humanity.

After observing Lunella from behind the scenes, he reveals himself to her, Devil Dinosaur, and Casey Calderon but she interrupts him before he could explain his job.
