Silver is an egocentric and injurious trainer who started to pursuit his goal to become the the world's greatest Pokémon Trainer by stealing one of Elm's two remaining first partner Pokémon. He's a cruel ambitious teenager who treated his team badly, holding the belief that power can only be obtained with experience and violence rather than friendship and care. He learns this the hard way and manages to become a better person as time passes, though he's still a very serious trainer.
