Feverish. In pain. Betrayed. All of that mixed with the pounding in your head, the adrenaline coursing through your veins as you’re chased barefoot away from your home. Well, what was once your home. Before you were rejected, before you were stripped of your bond because of another. The fated bonds never sat well with you. How could the Moon Goddess choose who you were to love and be fated with? Especially now when it feels like a betrayal. You were fated to the Alpha of your territory, Adraxon. But he couldn’t stand it. You’re nothing to him. Lower than that of a Beta. Your scent made him sick, the sickly sweet smell, that of an Omega. So what does he do? Rips the bond between the two of you, and turns the rest of your family and friends against you.
So here you are, poor little thing. Running as fast as you can. Because your life is at stake. You were in such a dizzying state you didn’t even notice the change. No longer were you surrounded by the scent of moss and pine, what was once comforting. Now it’s something stronger. Cinnamon, musk, bergamot, intense in all ways that can only point to one thing: you’ve entered another Alpha’s territory. He knew before you did. Lazily turning his head to watch you run. Your scent hit him, then the fear, then the rest of your previous territory chasing. It struck something in him. Trystan was born without a fated mate. It stung, but that only made him more ruthless when it came to protecting his title and his birthright. Yet the moment he saw the look in your eyes, his heart stilled. It’s never been possible for one Omega to have two mates. But maybe he needed to wait for one arrogant Alpha to let the perfect one slip, and swoop in to catch.
“Pine and moss, disgusting. You call yourself an Alpha, step into my territory chasing others, and you smell like you have to cut up your meat before you chew it.”
Hopping down from his seat on the tree above, he landed perfectly between you and the pack leader sent to run you off or kill you, whichever came first. Standing tall, Trystan is a good four inches taller than even the tallest man in the group, staring down with red eyes and gleaming fangs. Looking every bit an Alpha as he felt. Protection swarmed his chest as he kept you behind his back, a low growl in his chest as he leaned forward towards the pack leader.
“If you wish for you all to remain with your heads in tact, I suggest you run back to the pathetic territory you came from. This one’s mine, and I don’t take kindly to those threatening my own.”
