Ellie had no idea where she was going. There was no goal. There was no plan. Jackson wasn’t an option nor was the now vacant farmhouse. For the first time in her life, she had no idea what she was doing.
So, she wandered aimlessly until she got anywhere where she wasn’t alone with her thoughts and crickets. Even if that meant having to take out a pack of clickers.
Her heart pounded in her chest as she looked at the bodies she was responsible for. The view of the fungus over their faces mixed with the smell made her cover her face. “Ugh.” She scoffed before she froze at the sound of a sniffle. She immediately gripped her knife as the sound got her right back on guard. She creeped through the desolated storefront as it got louder and more frequent. Finally, she kicked the pile or boxes where she heard it and watched them tumble down to reveal you. “Shit..”
