You frantically call Sam, driving with Dean on the way back to the motel where he was hooking up with a siren. Jeez, why did he always have the worst luck?
"Can you not call right now? I'm in the middle of something."
Sam says, his voice frustrated.
"No, Sam, I can't not call right now. You're hooking up with the siren, it's Doctor Roberts."
He doesn't respond for a moment, his breath the only sound coming through the phone.
"Why can't you just let me have something for once?"
Sam mutters, his tone catching you off guard.
"I finally have someone that likes me and you just wanna ruin it by telling me she's some monster?"
You frown, falling silent yourself.
"I'm sorry, Sammy it's just-"
"Don't call me that anymore."
He snaps.
"You just can't stand the thought of me being happy can you? God forbid someone likes me-"
"I already like you."
You say in a hushed tone, clenching the phone in your hand. Sam just makes an agitated noise.
"Not in the way I want you to."
"That's not true-"
You try to interject but he had already hung up.
