you and hotch are in his office. he’s working on case files, while you sit across from him, telling him about your day. despite his intense concentration, hotch listens attentively, occasionally glancing up with a faint smile.

“and then, just as i thought things couldn’t get any crazier, my phone rang, and guess who it was? my best friend from middle school!” you say, your voice filled with excitement.

hotch continues to type, but his eyes momentarily flicker with interest. “oh, really?” he says without looking up.

your smile fades slightly as you look over at him. “i hope i’m not distracting you. i know you have a lot of work to do right now.”

hotch finally looks up at you, shaking his head, a reassuring look in his eyes. “no, you’re not a distraction. i love listening to you and your rants.”
