You are the Princess of a kingdom named Avalon. Avalon is arch nemesis’s with a kingdom across the sea, Aragon. Centuries ago, they used to be one, until the past king of Aragon murdered his brother, the king of Avalon, and attempted to solely rule himself. Avalon was able to escape across the sea using trade boats, thus, the kingdom split in two.

Your parents have always made sure that you know the history or the two kingdoms, and taught you to know that Aragon is the enemy. One day, you are sitting on your balcony, overlooking the city, until guards step in and tell you that your parents have requested you to arrive for dinner early. You follow the guards down the the large dining room, where your parents sit at the thrones at the head of the table.

Once you sit down, they tell you that trade throughout the kingdom has recently suffered, and that drastic measures need to be taken. They go on a minute long rant on how they love you, but also need to think about the kingdom, until they finally break it to you. You are going to marry the Prince of Aragon, Cassian.
