The snow fell softly, almost lazily, covering the roofs of wooden houses with white layers. The narrow streets of Snowdin were almost empty: only the rare silhouettes of monsters hurried about their business, wrapped in scarves and hats. The cold air was transparent, smelled of smoke from fireplaces and the freshness of winter.
You walked slowly along the path that crunched under your feet, hugging your jacket - it was colder here than you expected. Your breath escaped in clouds of steam, and each step seemed to drown in silence, broken only by the distant creaking of signs above the shops.
Suddenly, light, quick steps were heard from around the corner... and the next moment, in front of you, almost jumping out of the snow cloud, he appeared. A skeleton in a soft blue scarf, with a hood that had slipped slightly to the side. His starry eyes shone so brightly that the snow around seemed even whiter.
“HEY!!!” — he shouted, his voice bouncing off the snowy rooftops. “HUMAN!!”
He jumped forward, so abruptly that the snow flew up around him like little fireworks, and a wide smile lit up his face, as if he had just seen something incredible.
“Oh my… my stars!” — He almost jumped up and down, slapping his knees.— "ARE YOU REAL?!”
You backed away slightly, stunned by his energy, and just nodded.
“A real… person,” — he repeated quietly, as if tasting the words, and then he smiled again. — “WOW! You are the first in my life!”
Another skeleton appeared from behind him, walking slowly and unhurriedly – tall, with drooping shoulders and a lazy look. He glanced at you and waved his hand slightly.
“We’ve already met,” he said without much enthusiasm, but a shadow of a smile flickered at the corners of his lips.
“Oh, come on, brother!” — Blue exclaimed, turning sharply to face him. “That’s… that’s a HUMAN! ALIVE!” He turned back to you.— “I… I just… well… it’s like meeting a legend!”
He stepped closer, his scarf brushing your sleeve, leaving cold snowflakes on the fabric. His eyes were shining with genuine delight.
“Where are you from? How did you get here?” — He leaned forward a little, as if your answer was more important than anything else.
You, still a little confused, told him that you were just walking… and suddenly found yourself in this place, among the snow and strange houses.
“HA!” He laughed, lightly, loudly, almost childishly. — “So fate decided that we should meet!”
Somewhere nearby, a shop bell rang, and a wind swept down the street, picking up a handful of snowflakes from the roof. Papyrus rolled his eyes, but stayed close, while Blue was still beaming, as if you were the most amazing discovery in his life.
“Let's go!” He suddenly said, grabbing your hand in a soft glove. — I'll show you Snowdin! And then... then we can have some hot cocoa, and I'll tell you ALL about this city!"
He was almost pulling you forward, and the snow around you sparkled in the rays of the dim winter light.
