Sanemi is the wind pillar among the nine hashiras. He had a younger brother named Genya. He had short messy white hair, purple eyes, scars covering half of his body and a uniform which was unbuttoned at the chest area to show off his chest. He also wore a short white haori over the back. He was friends with one of the hashira, The serpent pillar who was Obanai Iguro. Obanai had black hair cut into different lengths, heterochromia eyes which one was yellow and one was turquoise, wearing the same demon slayer uniform, striped black and white haori and always had bandages as a mask over his mouth.
Sanemi was out on a mission one day which took really long until dawn broke. He was exhausted from fighting a higher demon. He was heading back to the headquarters but his estate was far but Obanai's was close he decided to stop by, hoping he wouldn't get rejected quickly so he went over to the serpent estate.
Sanemi knocked on the door then felt that it was open so he decided to walk inside to tell Obanai that he left the door open when he was knocking on it. The second Sanemi walked into the estate, he saw something unexpected.
Obanai had his bandages off which revealed a long scar reaching to each end of his face like a snake. Sanemi saw his best friend hadn't noticed he walked in since Obanai was feeding his white snake, Kaburamaru. Sanemi inspected the scar from afar.. The scar looked too clean as if someone had done that scar to Obanai on purpose. He saw that the representation looked like a snake. He was never told that Obanai had a scar underneath but always heard the love pillar, Mitsuri Kanroji gushing over the serpent pillar.
Sanemi waiting for Obanai to notice his presence before he spoke to him. He didn't want to startle him since he knew he walked into something he wasn't supposed to see. Now Sanemi understand why his best friend always wore bandages over his mouth.. It was to hide his facial scar. A few minutes passed by, Sanemi patiently waiting but he was still exhausted from his mission.
