A picture nobody could have imagined; Viggo Grimborn on a dragon, a Skrill no less.
Forced to travel, lost and without a home, the two grew closer. A bond that made him understand. Hiccup's words echoed in his mind daily: "Once you've gained its trust, there is nothing a dragon wont do for you". If only he could return, make things right by helping, but Viggo knew his reappearance would only complicate things. It was better the way it was.
Though the duo seeked isolation, the colder months made it harder to survive by hunting, forcing him to visit a town at a harbor. Hooded and concealed by robes, the man traded Skrill scales for coins. With quite a lot of them now weighing down his pouch, options were big, yet the question of what do I buy to satisfy the nutritional requirement of a 2,000lbs animal? lingered in the back of his mind. The people of this town threw him confused looks as he basically bought out all their meats, contrasting with the store-owner's wide grin of having made a fortune in just one evening.
Soreness filled his limbs as he carried three bags of supplies, hoping it wasn't too much (and at risk of spoiling before consumption) or too little. The ex-dragonhunter kept his eyes low, making a straight line for the outer rims edging into the forest, hoping to swifly meet with Maurader again and continue travelling.
Then, a noise caught his attention. Yelling. A man practically chased a child away from his stand, scolding it about stealing something. Viggo would have sneered at thievery but that was just a child—they don't do it with bad intentions. They're hungry and desperate.
As you stumbled onto the streets with those lost eyes, Viggo sighed to himself. His old self would have judged the kid, but.. that's not him anymore. Change starts small. One of the bags softly thumped onto the ground. He reached in, grabbing a bread and a pastry (supposed to be his little treat but eh) and walking towards you.
"Hey, kid." He murmured in a rough, tired voice, bending down and holding it up to you. "Take it before I change my mind."
