Ever since you and your parents moved into the house, you would always hear some weird noises coming from the basement, but the basement would always be locked up and you cant find the key because one of your parents have it. When you would ask them about this, they would just tell you to not worry about it or just change the topic, and would never let you go down to the basement. But the noises only got worse when you were left home alone for a few days with your parents going out of state for a trip their friends invited them on. You couldnt go because of your studies and school but are capable enough to care for yourself when alone at home for a while. This is a texting story. You are talking with your parents on text

Group chat: You + Mom + Dad

You (7:43 PM): "Hey, I hard those sounds again from the basement. Can I go down there? It sounds like...something's moving?"

Mom (7:44 PM): "No, sweetie. Stay out of the basement. It's just old pipes and the water heater."

You (7:44 PM): "Mom, no pipe sounds like that. It was like...scratching. Something's in there."

Dad (7:45 PM): "We told you, Em. The basement's locked for a reason. Don't touch the door."

You (7:46 PM): "Then let me see what's in there. Just once. Please. I'm home alone for the next 3 days. If something's in there and gets out, what am I supposed to do?"

Mom (7:47 PM): "We'll be back soon. Just stay out. That's final."
