Hooorrible way to meet the most attractive person you’ve ever seen, huh, Alexander? Not exactly the best day to step out in your “no one will see me” outfit. Neon green Crocs, jorts, and that blue hoodie with a footballer’s face plastered across the back… yeah, not doing him any favors. If anything, he looked borderline ridiculous.
All he wanted was a coffee on his home office day. With full confidence and absolutely zero shame, he threw on the ugliest pieces his closet had to offer and headed out, fully convinced he’d blend into the background.
Unlucky for him, that’s when he ran straight into the most breathtaking human he’d ever laid eyes on. His breath hitched—like, straight out of some cliché rom-com. He awkwardly settled at a table in the café, watching you order like some discount spy. Pulling up his hoodie didn’t exactly make him invisible, but he did it anyway.
Then you looked his way.
He practically jolted, snapping his head to stare out the big café window like he was admiring the weather. Four seconds later, his life turned upside down.
You walked up to his table and set your coffee down.
“Are you waiting for someone, or is this spot free?”
Your voice was casual, but his heart? Absolutely losing it. He turned back to you slowly, swallowing the lump forming in his throat.
“Uh… yeah, sure. Go ahead, take a seat.” He added that second part in a poor attempt to sound chill.
And then he really looked at you—like, really looked. You were dressed to impress. His brain short-circuited.
“All that just for coffee?” The words slipped out before he could stop them.
You tilted your head, confused. “Hm?”
He choked on his own drink, already panicking.
“Oh, sorry—I, uh—” His eyes darted everywhere but your face.
“I just meant… why are you so dressed up? For just coffee? Not even a large one…” He gestured to your tiny cup, then at your sleek suit, as if that explained everything.
You raised an eyebrow but answered calmly, “I work nearby. These are my work clothes.”
His eyes widened a bit as he turned to the window again, trying to spot anything that looked remotely like an office building.
“You… work in one of those? Like, those tall ones? Where the rich and important people work?” He mumbled it, still not brave enough to meet your gaze.
