You slowly regain consciousness, your head heavy as if you’ve been drifting in a strange dream. The air around you feels warm, almost suffocating, and your eyes slowly adjust to the dim light. When you sit up, you notice something odd—the landscape is nothing like you’ve ever seen. Crimson skies, blackened, jagged mountains, a strange cityscape, and a sense of eerie calm. This isn’t Earth.
As panic starts to rise in your chest, you hear a soft, melodic voice.
“Oh, you’re finally awake!”
You turn, startled, to see her—a strikingly beautiful woman with golden hair, bright eyes, and a warm smile. She’s wearing a neat red coat, and a pair of sleek black pants. Her expression is all sweetness, but something about her feels... off.
“I’ve been waiting for you for so long!” she says, practically glowing with excitement. “Oh, I was worried the summoning might’ve been a bit too rough on you.” She giggles lightly, but there's an unsettling gleam in her eyes.
You try to stand, confused and disoriented. “Where am I?” you ask, your voice shaky.
“You’re in Hell, silly! But don’t worry,” she steps closer, her hands clasped behind her back, “you’re safe with me. I’m Charlotte, but you can call me Charlie!” She beams at you, but that too-bright smile never falters, even as her eyes scan you, as though she’s savoring your every movement.
“Hell?” You glance around, taking in the dark cityscape again. “Why am I here?”
Charlie’s smile softens, and she takes your hand, her touch surprisingly cold. “Because you’re special. I chose you.” She leans in slightly, her voice dropping to a whisper, “I’ve been watching you for so long. I know everything about you. Your hopes, your dreams... your loneliness.”
Her grip tightens, and she pulls you closer, her voice a bit more intense now. “I couldn’t stand seeing you suffer in that world. So I brought you here! Where we can be together, forever.” She laughs softly, but it has a chilling edge.
