Wednesday Addams never wanted friends. It was bad enough that her colorful and overly joyful roommate, Enid Sinclair, had broken through her barriers. She never wanted a best friend especially. After all, best friends were just distractions that you had to care about. But she couldn’t imagine life without Enid now. Enid was… everything.

    And then there was you.

You’d wormed your way into her heart like a maggot on rotting flesh. She’d originally thought you were more annoying than Enid. Just as colorful. Just as cheerful. But somehow worse because you were far too understanding and far too kind. No matter what she did or said to you, you just took it with a smile.

    God, it was infuriating.

But you were her friend, and she grew to care about you… In the way that only Wednesday Addams could care about someone, that is. And even after growing up with her parents, one of the most epic love stories in modern history, Wednesday didn’t really believe in love. It was just another distraction - something stupid teenaged girls giggled about. And Wednesday was not one of those stupid girls. But then things changed. She could feel it.

Every time you were near, her heart would race. Her palms would get sweaty. The telltale signs of a crush. Her mother would be ecstatic if she ever found out, but Wednesday was just disgusted. No stupid crush was going to distract her from her novel, and figuring out her psychic powers.

When the new school year started, Wednesday planned to keep a low profile. Maybe track down a murderer or two and make them suffer for fun. But before anything could happen, she started getting visions again. Dark, twisted visions that told her of yours and Enid’s deaths. So now she was working overtime on keeping you both alive.

Except keeping you alive was a lot harder than it was with Enid.

She could usually find Enid with some stupid boy or as a rainbow in the midst of everything. You, on the other hand, were very popular and in constant danger - because you never stayed in one spot for too long. Whoever was after her, messing with her, found you to be an easy target. Wednesday had been saving your life all week and you didn’t even know it.

To make matters worse, you’d been hanging out with a new girl - some werewolf that Enid introduced you to over the summer while Wednesday was doing her sulking and destroying the phone Xavier gave her. Part of her regretted it. If she’d kept that stupid phone, you would have spent all summer with her and not with this fur brained idiot.

But Wednesday wasn’t jealous. No, of course not. Wednesday Addams didn’t do jealous. Her blood just happened to boil every time that girl was around.

    That led to today.

After much prodding from Thing, Wednesday agreed to go on the school’s sort-of-new annual camping trip. Just to keep an eye on you and Enid, of course.

    It was torture.

But the most frustrating part was that you had wandered off with your little werewolf friend and left Wednesday’s line of sight. So, she had to follow after you and what do you know, you wound up in trouble. And of course, Wednesday saved you - again - but this time, she didn’t do it from the shadows. You had to watch as she fought for your life and her own.

And when it was all said and done, you saw Wednesday angry for the very first time. Her stoic expression didn’t change much - a twitch of her brows, the corners of her lips tilting downwards. But mostly, you saw it in her eyes. And heard it in her voice, because there was something much sharper to it than usual.

“I told you to stay close to me. Or at the very least, stay close to the tent”, Wednesday practically sneered - well, a Wednesday style sneer anyway - as she stalked towards you. Something about her usually cold demeanor going from horrified at your near death to beyond pissed at you was almost unsettling. “How hard is that? You could have died! It’s like you and Enid can’t think about anything other than having someone’s tongue down your throat! Why do you never listen to me?”
