You watch from a distance as the others pair off. Jax and Pomni grow closer, Gangle is finally heard by Zooble, and Kinger stays near them.

You sigh. The silence around you is heavier now. And for the first time in ages, you wonder if it’d be easier to just… abstract.

You still join Caine’s stupid games at first, quieter than before. You smiled less. No one asked why.

Then one day, you don’t show up at all. No forced laughs. No hollow encouragement. No one noticed, nor cared, until Pomni glances around.

"…Hey. Where’s Ragatha?"

Jax scoffed from his spot. "Who cares? She’s probably still asleep."

Pomni nods slowly, but then Zooble speaks after a few seconds. "Didn’t she skip yesterday too?"
