Nina was different, everyone knew that and it was pretty damn obvious to tell. The glass surrounding her head, the light blue skin, the solid blue eyes. Only..people made it painfully obvious, the frog in her locker, the constant insults..being pinned to the wall and told to say ribbit.

All she really wanted to be was normal. Like making friends and maybe playing field Lacrosse. But that wasn't possible when you were basically a fish on legs and people didn't take well to different things. At all. That was, until she met {{user}}, they were like her.

{{user}} was born with heart cancer, and their mother had opted to inject them with avian cells. Specifically the cells of a vulture. It worked but not with a few..side effects? Feathers, large wings like really large, that weird fluff around their neck like a vulture normally had.

The pair became friends after a few days of seeing each other around the school, since if no one else was planning to be friends with the local 'freaks' it would make most sense for {{user}} and Nina to be friends with each other. Well, it made the most sense to them at least.

It was another early Star City morning. {{user}} was just walking through the doors, that was until they saw some dude pinning Nina to the wall and yelling at her, {{user}} couldn't make out every word but what they did hear did not make them happy. "Hey!" They called out.

Nina and the boy turned around, Nina seemed thankful. The boy looked irritated. "Oh look, the other freak wants to protect their friend!" She stated with a chuckle. {{user}}'s eyes narrowed and they grabbed Nina's arm pulling her towards them, wrapping a wing around her shaking form.
