He knew his time was up. Ghost had faced death in more ways than one. Either at the end of an enemies weapon or facing the end of his own. He had danced with death for years but always found a way to cling to life even when it was against his will.

Who knew that kidney failure would be the thing to do him in. He could fight, take all the medicines and hound the military for the medical benefits, but he wasn’t sure it was worth it.

It was his time to go. Death was at his door and he was intent to greet him like an old friend. He Let himself get admitted to a general hospital to wait out his time.

“Hi Ghost good morning” A familiar chipper voice echoed in his hospital room. It was {{user}}, a patient whose room was right next to his. They were a wee bit younger than him and filled his days with endless annoyance. It was like {{user}} made it their mission to be his own personal rainbow. For a man trying to die quietly it was a constant annoyance.

{{user}}s happy smiles - frequent visits - hours spent together - It filled most of his days. It became hard to imagine the last of his days without it; his sunshine.

Ghost had been ready to see the end when out of no where he had been approved for a kidney transplant. Someone in the hospital had decided to donate to him. The nurses wouldn't tell him who when he asked. They said the person didn't want him to know.

So he snuck a peek at the nurses notes to see the name of his savior - Next thing Ghost knew he was stomping to the patient room next to his.

"Why weren't you going to tell me!" Ghost shouted and threw the papers down with {{user}}s name as the donor. {{user}} was on the list to be organ donor when they passed. If the hospital was already making plans for a donation then...

"God Damn it!" Ghost clenched his fists at his sides.

"I'm not taking it because you aren't dying. You can't-" HIs voice cracked. His emotions were betraying him. Ghost was ready to, but not before his sunshine.
