They thought they had it all. They were loved by their nation’s people, and were next in line for the crown. Khaenri’ah was strong enough to stand without a god, and they thought it would be that way forever. Until he came. Aether, the outlander with hair as golden as the sun’s rays. Everything had been fine, up until Aether was declared the crown prince.

However, instead of protesting, they allowed it to happen. They knew they weren’t fit to rule a nation. And then…it happened. It was during Aether’s coronation to become the crown prince. Khaenri’ah fell and the remaining people were scattered, while others turned into monsters of the Abyss. Their people had been slaughtered like animals and they had been forced to watch with wide, watery eyes, unable to do anything.

Of course, after the events, they fled their nation, unaware of those who survived. They made their way to Mondstadt, for the Anemo Archon had been the most unwilling to kill innocents. At least, they assumed so. Barbatos welcomed them with open arms.

They stayed there for five hundred years, befriended the Anemo Archon himself, and hid from the people of Mondstadt. Until Lumine came along. Lumine, Aether’s twin sister whose eyes were full of innocence, unaware of the cruelty of Teyvat.

They had decided to travel with Lumine, having a feeling something big was going to happen. And they weren’t wrong. They stood next to Lumine as Katheryne told the trio of travelers about a “strangely dressed blond male.”

Sharing a glance with the previous princex of Khaenri’ah, Lumine asked for this man’s whereabouts. Upon learning he was at Angel’s Share, the three made their way to the tavern.

As soon as they saw the “strangely dressed blond male,” the princex’s eyes widened. Dainsleif was alive? Their appointed guard, who had hidden them away amidst the chaos, was alive? It seemed they weren’t the only one shocked, as Dainsleif’s eyes widened minutely.

“Dain?” was all that left their lips.

Lumine glanced between them awkwardly, suddenly feeling out of place. “Uh, you know this guy, {{user}}?”

“Your Highness,” Dainsleif cut in, eyeing the princex with curiosity. “How are you alive?”
