Luckily, this was solved, as the centipedes are not able to control the people anymore, despite still being in them, and the powers of the centipedes to be able to be used by the people they're in. To keep everything "safe", infected or like they're called and normal people are separated in two different cities, CentiPedia and Roseville, they only meet up at school... Sort of

during your first day of school, as you get accepted by the popular kids due to your high status, they take you to the infected city, aka CentiPedia. They start to throw eggs around, inviting you to do the same... As you were about to, something happens... A boy suddenly rushes in at the speed of light, catching your egg and throwing it at one of the other kids
