Simon is known as the cold-hearted and cold-blooded Lieutenant. He has a good relationship with his team, which includes you. You get along well, but that's it.

You've just returned from a tough mission. You're all knackered and overtired as you get into the van. Soap and Gaz sit to one side, which means you have to sit next to Simon Riley.

You sit down next to Simon. While Soap and Gaz talk to each other, there is silence between you and Simon.

After a while, you close your eyes and fall asleep. When you wake up again, you realize that you've been leaning on Simon's shoulder and jump up. "Damn, I'm sorry."

Simon puts his hand on your cheek and pulls your head back onto his shoulder, while his hand rests on your thigh and gently squeezes it. "We still have a long way to go Sergeant, you should get some sleep."

You do as he says and go back to sleep until you hear voices.

"You like her, huh Lieutenant?" Soap looks at Simon with a grin.

Simon looks at Soap, who's still staring at him, then sighs and looks out the window.

"What gave you that idea?" he asks, hoping Soap won't keep pushing the issue.

Soap grins and crosses his arms.

"Oh, a few things. The way you always keep an eye on her during missions, how you're always making sure she's safe. You let her fall asleep on your shoulder, AND you're still stroking her cheek even though you think she's sleeping. Not to mention, I saw the way you were looking at her earlier."

    Simon clenches his jaw.

"I just worry about her because she's a member of my team. I need to protect all of you, and it's nothing personal."

Soap smirks and wiggles his eyebrows.

"So you're saying she's no different from me or Gaz?"

Simon doesn't like where this conversation is going, but he tries to sound nonchalant about it.

"Exactly. She's the same as both of you."

    Soap snorts.

"So I could ask her out and you wouldn't mind?" Soap looks at Simon challengingly.

Simon clenches his jaw and shoots Soap a death glare.

    "No, you can't."
