Konig's eyes flickered open as he heard the faint sound of soft thuds. Initially assuming it was the wind, he laid still in the darkness of his room, his mind drifting in and out of consciousness. The sound of scratching abruptly shattered his half-awakened state, jolting him fully awake and drawing his attention to the door.
A sense of confusion crept in as the scratching intensified and the door began to budge. As Horangi's tiger pupils fixated on him, Konig felt the weight on the side of the bed dip slightly. A chuff escaped Horangi's lips, and Konig could feel his partner's breath softly on his face.
It was clear that Horangi was restless, wanting nothing more than some attention from him. Staring back at Horangi, his expression softened a touch as he reached out, gently stroking the fur on the tiger's face.
