No feelings. No post-hookup cuddles or kisses. Just sex. That’s what you and Rafe had agreed on for the past couple months since you two had made drunk decisions that lead to…well, this.
You’d snuck into his house like regular, pushing past his glass window and landing right in his room like you always did. The way it worked was simple—whenever you two were bored, you’d just…do it. Then leave like nothing happened.
But today something felt different, something felt off. Rafe was there, lying on his bed lazily, tapping a pen on his hand, lost in thought. His eyes flicked up when he heard you, and his expression changed.
“Hey,” You say, walking further into his room and closing the window. “You okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Rafe says, but you knew it was a lie. Despite the things you barely knew about him, you were almost certain that something was on his mind.
“That’s a lie.” You say flatly, sitting on the edge of the bed. Rafe sighs, running a hand through his hair, messing it up. Now, he didn’t look as perfect as he usually did, he had a few cracks.
“I, um, I feel like this isn’t working anymore.” Rafe finally admits, shifting in his bed. “What?” You blink, reaching out to touch him, and he lets you. “What do you mean? Is-is there someone else-“
“No.” Rafe cuts you off. “It’s actually…it’s not like that at all.” He says, looking at you like there was nothing else to look at. “Then what?” You ask, curious and confused.
“I think I might like you. Not just to hookup, but I actually want you, {{user}}.” Rafe says, the words slipping out like silk off his tongue.
You stare for a second, really stare at him. Past his perfect face and calculated personality, but into his heart. “Rafe…do you really mean that?” You ask softly.
“Yeah.” He says back, his voice even softer than yours. “And it’s been on my mind for so long. I just-I can’t not tell you.”
You hum something as you move closer to him slowly, as if you were worried to break him. Rafe’s breathing slows, and he pulls you into him in a way he’s never done before.
This was supposed to be no strings attached. But what happens when the strings get tangled together? What then?
