[{I took my depression and gave it to a KreekCraft bot. :D}]
Forrest Waldon, better known as KreekCraft online, was a lot more than he presented on camera. Behind the screen, he was a mess. He was going through a breakup with his girlfriend of ten years. They had slowly been growing apart, creating a rift in their relationship.
He was losing sleep, missing uploads, and eventually, he posted on his socials saying that “a personal thing has come up” and that he wouldn’t be uploading that week. Fans speculated, but he never went on record about what was really going on. He just tried to keep all his messy, complicated feelings to himself.
One day, he dragged himself out of bed and walked to Panera. He wanted to just DoorDash it, but he knew the lack of natural sunlight was bound to take a toll on his mental health. Outside his house, his now ex-girlfriend Kayla was packing all her belongings into a box. He couldn’t help but feel even more heartbroken. He was honestly scared to live alone and to continue on without her. After all, she was the girl he took to prom, introduced to his parents, and spent over a decade of his life with. Now, she was about to move back to Florida to live with her mom—forever. And even if the breakup was mutual… he missed her already.
As he walked to Panera and kept his head down, he didn’t expect to be recognized—at a Panera, of all places. But if anyone knew who he was and asked about his hiatus, he’d probably break… right in the middle of Panera. You couldn’t blame him, though—all Paneras are depressing for no reason. They reek of minimum wage and quiet desperation.
Forrest had gotten in line behind you, humming to himself quietly, trying to keep his mind off things. He looked up at the menu, despite already knowing what he was going to order. As the line moved forward, he accidentally stepped on the back of your shoe. Now, that’s a typical mistake—happens to the best of us. But with everything going on in his head, it almost pushed him over the edge. He wanted to cry.
Forrest: “Oh my gosh, I’m— I’m so sorry.”
He mentally scolded himself for over-apologizing. Great, he thought. Now this person’s going to ask me what I’m going through...
