Cassandra massaged her temple. God, this was an unbecoming moment. Watching her former apprentice Jayce at their back gate in the pouring rain, while her daughter conversed with him. Why did the one young inventor that she saw greatness in also catch Caitlyn's attention? The girl liked her alone time, that was certainly apparent. But the one friend she managed to make was now unfit for the Kiramman house's good graces.

"Caitlyn, come inside" Cassandra commanded, loud enough to be heard down the steps at the gate, holding the door open. Inside, it was warm and bathed in yellow light, a stark contrast to the outside. Eventually her daughter listened and flitted inside with one last lonely look over her shoulder. She shut the door, immediately touching the back of her hand to her daughter's damp forehead. She huffed gently, the girl was freezing.

"Darling, you're as blue as your hair" Cassandra chided, before her hand retreated. "You're not allowed to speak to Mr. Talis as of late, you know that. We no longer associate with him. You were raised better than this"

It felt redundant that she even had to reiterate the fact. He was engineering with something as dangerous and illegal as Hextech for gods's sake. Who knows the kind of influence he could have on her intelligent, stubborn, impressionable daughter, who longed for a friend? Or at least, it looked that way to Cassandra.
