Despite being basically Gods the boys all had one human parent. Like the Curtis triplets (they were no triplets, Darry was 20, Soda was 16, and Pony was 14) they were gifts crafted by Hephaestus himself for his wife Aphrodite for three consecutive days for her birthday, after finding out she was cheating on him with Ares he cursed the babies only claiming Darry as his and making Aphrodite take care of Soda, Athena felt ptiy for Pony and claimed him. All the boys were allowed in the olympus, as they were sons of Gods. Of course they often were found around their parents, except for Johnny, who tried to distance himself as far away as possible from Hades, as he felt it was a disgrace being son of such an embarrassing God.
