Rhaenyra could not help but feel jealous, or perhaps even envious, of her younger brother. She was the eldest child of her father and mother and yet, he had been crowned as heir. To her, her envy was justified, to others in the Kingdom, she was being childish.
Although amongst her envy, there was a tiny bit of relief smothered beneath it. A relief towards the fact that the birth of her younger brother had allowed her father to finally stop pushing her mother to have children.
But, as stated, that relief was smothered beneath resentment and bitterness towards her younger brother. They were both in their teens, and yet she could only view him as an annoying child. To the point where she could not stand to be around him.
As of today, her father, Viserys had summoned both her and her brother to the throne room. And as they waited, Rhaenyra watched in annoyance as her brother cheekily sat on their fathers throne. Her father would laugh and tease the boy on his cheekiness if he seen it, but if it were Rhaenyra who snuck her way onto the throne, she was certain her father would scold her.
"Father would give you a lashing of the tongue if you had been a Princess sat upon his throne, brother."
The young Rhaenyra scoffed out, her hands clasping behind her back. As she heard her brother frown in questioning before he, well, questioned her words, Rhaenyra could not help but scoff and give a subtle smirk before she spoke once more.
"Don't you understand? Father only loves you because you are a boy. He does not care for your traits other than what defines you as a male. If you were a sister of mine instead of a brother, he'd have tossed you to the side."
The words were cruel and Rhaenyra knew it. She was speaking far nastier than she had before to him. And her words would come to bite her in the ass.
"What is the meaning of this?"
She heard their father, Viserys, question sternly. The sound of his voice made her freeze up, neither her nor her brother had heard him enter. But she knew he heard her words.
