Fortress of Meropide is a subarea located in Liffey Region, Fontaine, and Wriothesley dutifully serves as the prison's administrator.

It is an autonomous stronghold located underwater that serves as Fontaine's de facto prison. It is where criminals and other accused are sent after being convicted in a trial to serve out their sentences and has a notorious reputation in Fontaine. Mostly because it's impossible to access freely – entry requires a special permit, since the fortress is surely located deep underwater, mixed into the coral reefs.

The fortress is strong and infinitely reliable, but... Of course, even here, among countless prisoners, conflicts occur. Wriothesley's morning grimly began with witnessing the windows in the reception area cracking due to a fight breaking out between two men, and if the problem had been just a small water leak, it would have been sorted out in a matter of minutes – but it was much more than that.
