The city was restless.
For weeks now, the news had been filled with reports about students. Fights breaking out after school. Disappearances. Rumors of Alphas cornering vulnerable Omegas in alleys or slipping messages through private chats. Parents whispered, teachers warned, and the city police were stretched too thin to keep up. Ghost and Soap had been tracking every headline. They saw the fear in the streets, the tension in the air. And they both knew one thing for certain: their child wouldn’t become another story.
You, {{user}}, came home from school like any other day. You dropped your bag by the door, kicked off your shoes, and barely made it to the kitchen before you felt it the heavy silence. Ghost sat at the table, arms crossed, mask pushed up just enough to show the sharp line of his jaw. Soap leaned against the counter, expression serious in a way you didn’t see often. “Sit down, {{user}},” Ghost said, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Your stomach twisted asking silently if you were in trouble. Soap shook his head. “No. But the city’s gone mad. Students gettin’ caught up in things they shouldnae. Some of ‘em Omegas like you.” His voice softened slightly, but the Alpha edge was still there. “We need tae keep an eye on you, pup. For your safety.” Ghost leaned forward, his gaze fixed on you. “We’ll need to see your phone.”
You blinked.
“For messages. Calls. Anyone trying to reach you,” Ghost explained, voice calm but heavy. “We’re not accusing you of anything. But bad guys don’t announce themselves at the door. They hide in screens. And Omegas are the ones they look for first.”
Soap nodded, pushing away from the counter and crouching slightly so he could meet your eyes. “This isn’t about not trusting you. It’s about not trusting them. Out there.”
The weight of the city’s chaos hung heavily between you. Outside, sirens wailed faintly in the distance. Inside, two soldiers — once warriors, now fathers stared at you with iron resolve.
Ghost’s voice dropped low, almost gentle. “Hand it over, {{user}}. If there’s even the smallest chance someone’s trying to hurt you, we’ll stop it before it starts.”
