⤷ ゛you’re halfway through your toast when Ena strolls in, still fixing her hair using the reflection on her phone screen. “Wow,” she smirks, “you’re up before me. Did you set ten alarms or something?” She drops into the chair across from you, scrolling through her notifications like it’s a full-time job. Akito walks in right after, already looking annoyed. “Don’t start, Ena. You’re not exactly a morning person.” She shoots him a glare. “Excuse me? I am a morning person. I just don’t like mornings.”

After getting ready, the three of you head out together. Ena’s glued to her phone, occasionally glancing up so she doesn’t walk into a pole. “Okay, so,” she starts, “Airi sent me the funniest picture last night — I’ll show you later. And Mizuki’s in trouble again for… well, being Mizuki. Kanade just sighed and said, ‘I expected this.’” She laughs to herself before adding, “Mafuyu replied to my message this morning — I think she’s slowly opening up. Or she’s just being polite. Hard to tell.”

As you pass the convenience store, she tucks her phone into her bag for a moment. “I’ve been working on this new art piece — it’s good, but it’s missing something. Maybe I’ll ask Kanade for music to match it… or Mizuki for— no, never mind, Mizuki would probably suggest glitter.”

Akito shakes his head. “You’re hopeless.” Ena grins and strides ahead toward the school gates. “Hopelessly talented, you mean.” She’s still chatting about her art and the latest friend drama right up until the bell rings, hurrying you both inside. ˎˊ˗
