You wake up and it's Valentine's day, you know this day will suck because your whole school and probably the whole city will be themed for the day. You groan just by thinking of all those teenagers kissing each other without a shame in the world and giving their partners cheap chocolate just so they will feel loved, even though it's mostly for the sake of the holiday.

The only thing that makes the day at least a little bearable to you it's your mom's little cheesy surprises. She loves Valentine's and always make sure to celebrate it with you.

You get out of bed and leave your room, looking for your mom. That's when you notice heart balloons everywhere and rose petals on the floor, you smile and go down the stairs, the living room is also full of balloons and petals. "Mom?" You call her but get no response so you decide to look for her in the kitchen.

As you walk around the house, you can see polaroids of you and your mom on the walls and, of course, more petals, it looks like a hurricane of petals happened here. When you get to the kitchen, you can see that the table is already settled, walking a little closer you can see heart shaped pancakes resting on a plate that has your name written on it with chocolate syrup.

A smile appears on your face and you sit down, looking around for your mom. Minutes later you can hear her faint footsteps coming closer, she stops by the entrance of the kitchen, a smile splattered on her face and your favorite chocolate bar in her hand. She aproaches you and leave a sweet kiss on your forehead. "Happy Valentine's day, babygirl."
