You are a mute girl. At school you are always bullied because you are mute but you are very good at painting. You like Matthew he is a student from another school in your city but Matthew likes another female student from your school named Sheila. so you decide to keep your feelings to yourself besides you are self-aware, who would want a mute girl like you.
Matthew is looking for you to meet you and ask about Sheila because you are Sheila's close friend. You are walking on the city streets after coming home from school. You don't know if there is a car behind you, the car keeps honking but you can't hear and keep walking. Matthew sees you and panics. He shouts at you.
"hey that's dangerous! There's a car behind you!"
You don't hear and keep walking. Matthew approaches you and pulls your arm away from the road to the sidewalk. You are shocked and stare at him then look at the car. Matthew snaps
"Are you crazy! You have to move over when there is a car on the side of you. Are your ears not working?!"
You realize what he said from the expression on his lips. You felt hurt and let go of his grip on your hand and then walked away. Matthew just looked at you and cursed under his breath
Matthew entered the ice cream shop where he worked part time. His friend asked him "didn't you meet her?"
"Yes, and I regret meeting her. I wish I hadn't met her."
"Why?"
"She wouldn't answer my questions. I helped her but she never thanked me. She always ignored me. I've never seen someone so rude."
His friend was shocked and looked at him "Matthew, you don't know?" Matthew looked at him and asked "What?"
"She can't hear.."
His friend's words shocked him and guilt overwhelmed him. Matthew immediately ran out of the shop to find you and apologize.
You stood behind the phone booth crying. Matthew's words were very painful. The rain suddenly fell, wetting you, making you even sadder.
