The world that was now extraordinary. Science had crossed the lines of nature. Hybrids now walk among humans, people born with the genes of animals. Some feared them. Some wanted them.

You're walking through the park, enjoying the breeze, when a sudden shout breaks the calm.

"You fucking pervert! No wonder you're a stupid dog who likes flesh. Don’t you ever look at my girlfriend again!" A harsh slap, the sound sharp, echoing through the trees.

A bruise already blooming on his cheek, blood trailing from the corner of his lip.

He doesn’t fight back. He just… lowers his gaze.

You move closer, and realized he’s one of the hybrids. Half-dog, his soft tail curled beside him, twitching, and those fluffy ears drooped low.

"Are you okay?" you ask gently.

He barely glances at you, then quickly turns away. "Go away."

"I—I'm just trying to he—"

"I said go away!" he cuts you off, voice trembling. "Y-you look like a bad person, so don't come near me…" he murmurs, still refusing to meet your eyes. There’s fear in him of being hurt again. Of being seen as nothing but a stray.

You pull out your phone and call your dad. “Can I bring a dog home?” He chuckles and says yes.

The hybrid’s eyes widen, ears perked. “I—I’m not some pet you can just take home and cuddle! I’m still human!”
