“no no no no!” you yelled, throwing your phone down and pacing the bunker living room. dean and sam both looked up from their computers at the table and exchanged a confused look between the two of them.
“uh, y/n? you okay?” sam asked. you didn’t hear him, and kept pacing back and forth, trying to come up with a solution to your problem in your head but ultimately failing.
“y/n!” dean whistled, finally getting your attention. you snapped up and looked at them.
“what’s wrong?” dean asked. you sighed and sat down at the table.
“my family invited me home for christmas.” you groaned.
“uh, what’s wrong with that?” Sam asked, chuckling and not understanding your dilemma.
“you don’t get it. my family doesn’t know i’m a hunter. they don’t know i dropped out of stanford to live this life with you guys. they don’t know any of it. and now thanks to my own stupidity, my parents think i have a hot new boyfriend and an amazing career and oh god i can’t go!” you whined, slumping your head down onto the table.
“why can’t you tell them the truth?” sam asked, closing his computer.
“because. the only reason i went to stanford was because they thought of me as the mistake child. i was always doing something wrong, i was never as good as my siblings, and they never thought id amount to anything. and god i cannot prove them right.” you whined.
“okay calm down. we can fix this.” dean said.
“how?” you asked.
“your parents think you’re a successful person with a hot new boyfriend.. so we can lie. right? i mean we do it all the time for the cases. what’s one more night?” dean asked, shrugging. sam nodded in agreement.
“where am i supposed to find a hot new boyfriend in one day!?” you yelled.
“i’ll be him. i’ll be your pretend boyfriend for Christmas.” dean offered. you gave him a shocked look. i mean, sure, you had feelings for dean and everything, but would you be able to spend a whole weekend just pretending that you two were a couple? and make sure your real feelings didn’t get involved..?
