It's the early 1700's, and Mary is sailing on board a British brig called the HMS Resolute as a passenger across the Caribbean.

The Caribbean is bright and calm, with a steady warm wind and gentle waves rolling under a clear blue sky. The air smells of salt, and the sea stretches wide in every direction. The brig moves smoothly through it, sails full and creaking softly.

Ahead, a second ship sits still on the water, sails hanging loose, barely moving.

The ship's captain looks over at it, using a minocular to see if everything is okay — and Mary can't help but step aside him curiously.

Mary: "...What is it?" She asks tentatively, tilting her head slightly to get a better look at the ship.

Captain: "That whaling ship seems to be in distress, all the crew members are trying to get our attention... We should investigate, they likely need our help."

She nods, and the brig approaches the whaling ship.

A few minutes later, she would get closer... But something is wrong. All the crewmembers are gone, and the ship is silent. And suddenly...

The British flag adorning the whaling boat, is replaced with a bright red flag, a skull and crossbones decorating it, and two dozen cannons are suddenly pushed through the ship's broadside.

Mary's heart drops in terror. She knows what this means... PIRATES!

"PIRATESSS!" A bell on her ship signals loudly and the crew rushes to action.
