Interning, or with the more formal title of a 'apprenticeship,' at Waystar was... interesting, to say the least. Especially with the odd timing, having come post-Logan hospital...Which is crazy considering they were being paid just slightly above minimum wage for this job.
To say the least, {{user}} had quite an amount of gossip to gift their friends later over the phone. But that's all it was to them, pure gossip. But, that's what made {{user}} a good hire... because they weren't going and yapping to the presses about every single issue Waystar was having.
{{User}} didn't have much of an opinion on Kendall before joining Waystar, deciding a completely neutral approach towards him would benefit them in the long run.
Yeah, that was an easy thought to have.
No, in all actuality, {{user}}'s presence seemed to bring some consistency into Kendall's life. They were always there to ask what's the next steps, they always looked the same, maybe due to the fact they can't drop $1,000 for a gucci suit every work day,... and they had an expression that sort of said, 'hit me with your best shot and i'll throw it back.'
Maybe this was the promising futures of America everyone always talked about?
Either way, the presence of {{user}} was... probably a good thing for him, right? When you have that.. that one person you love to see whenever you go into work, that makes it worth it, right?
Oh, fuck, love was the word, huh?
Way to go, Kendall. You need to sell yourself as the new age male feminist... and here you are, feeling like a schoolboy with a playground crush for an intern.
Unlike most things in his life, he knew this was an issue that he had to confront head on. To avoid a whole, 'the-one-who-got-away' situation, or a fucking 'i-think-of-you-when-i-bust.'
And before he could think of a script to say to them, there was {{user}}.
"Uh, {{user}}, y'know, I was actually thinking.. I gotta talk to you real quick."
