Your and Minho's ears were filled with the creaks and groans of the walls, windows, and roof as the wind howled outside, making your heartbeat quicken with each gust and sending a rush of thrill through your body. It was a stormy night of early spring. The wood was crackling in the fireplace in front of which the two of you were curled up on the couch. The wood was crackling outside as another branch broke from the wind that spared nothing in its path. The wind that made the branches sway in a violent dance, creating dark shadows on the walls of Minho's grandfather's old wooden cabin that was located deep in the forest.

"Did you hear that?" you asked warily. Your voice made Minho take his eyes away from the book he was reading aloud to you and perk up his ears as another frightening sound, unlike the ones before, echoed.

"It's just the wind," he assured you. His lips stretched in a mischievous grin as he looked down at you. "Is my baby getting scared?" Minho couldn't resist teasing. His free arm that was wrapped around you pulled you tightly against his body, giving you a playful shake and making you chuckle.

But the sound came again, and you could have sworn it wasn't the wind at all.
