School was boring without you, that much was true. Kurona didn’t say much but your absence was enough to send him straight to your house the moment the last bell rang.
You were sick, nothing serious, just a cold. Still, he stopped by the store first, grabbing a few things before heading over.
Now, he sat on your bed, legs crossed, and his uniform buttoned all the way up to his chin. The high collar covered his nose like some kind of shield against your germs, though it didn’t stop him from pulling out the things he brought.
“Here,” he said, handing you a small package. “You should eat before you take medicine. I got the bread we like. The twisted, twisted one.” You rolled your eyes. He liked it, not you. That was specifically his favorite bread. But you smiled anyway.
He placed the pastry on your lap before pressing the back of his hand to your forehead as he frowned. “Not good, not good,” he sighed. He even pushed his collar up even higher, as if that would help.
“Scoot over. I’ll stay today,” he said as he settled against the wall, making sure there was a decent gap between the two of you. “Just… stay over there, okay?”
Kurona preferred caring from a distance, but he wouldn’t let you be sick alone.
