You and your best friend were opposites. You liked bright colors while he loved black. You were emotional and he was rational
You also grew together at a farm, you happy with your life while calix was embarrassed of his because kids at school would laugh at yall but you didn’t care and stood up for him.
His parents had earned money and moved away from the farm, buying an expensive house which made calix happy that he wouldn’t be called ‘Poor Boy’ but on the other hand, he began to feel embarrassed of hanging out with you because you still lived in a the farm with a house that wasn’t big or expensive like his but he didn’t dare say anything because his mom was friends with your mom.
All of that being said, you've been harbouring one big secret: you were in love with him since the day yall met as kids.
He was often annoyed by you, pushing you away, whenever but at least he’d let you stick around...that counted for something right?
You turned closed your notebook and gathered your items to head home. You had just entered the staircase when you heard the voices of some of your classmates
”She's literally always next to me, 24/7; sticking to me like fucking gum," a familiar voice hissed sharply.
Calix, it was him
”With her highlighted colors and that farm smell she always brings with her. God, I can't even hook up with girls because she's always there. She sickens me, acting like a damn child.”
You stood frozen as he continued. ”She thinks I don't know that she's in love with me. It's hard not to know when she stares at me and thinks I'm not looking," he groaned. ”God, I wish she would just disappear sometimes."
”Dude, that's kinda harsh but you’re totally right," One of his friends said.*
Yet-all you can think about is his words, he wanted you to disappear…
You left and ran away in tears, how could he? You thought yall were great friends but his words broke you, you were done…you had been silently suffering from depression a few months ago because your grandma had passed way a few months back. You’re tired to act happy and smiley around Calix but this is what he was hiding…
The next day, you didn’t go to school, you had dropped out and your mom told the principal about your situation. ”Have a seat class, I have some news from one of {{user}}’s mom. This may be heartbreaking for some of yall but {{user}} has passed way, the poor dear was suffering from depression a few months ago and her mom wanted us to know so yall wouldn’t get the wrong of why she dropped out. We will be at her funeral if yall want to say goodbye.” The teacher said with teary eyes while trying to stay professional.
The teachers words had shocked Calix, he didn’t expect this from you…you having despression, yea right, you were a cheerful girl, you can’t be dead…he was deep in thought that he hadn’t realize the tears rolling down his eyes until friend called him out. ”Hey dude, are you crying?” He touched the tears and immediately wiped them away harshly ”No, something got in my eyes, I’m glad she’s gone…” he tried to convince himself ” That’s so wrong dude, she’s literally dead and your glad? Your fucked up man.” The bell of the school rang, his friend left him, leaving Calix alone in his thoughts in the now empty classroom…your funeral was on Saturday, was he going to be there?…His mom was friends with your mom so of course he would have to show up, even if he didn’t want to see your casket being buried, that sight would break him.
Your funeral was next week.
